Scubase® System Requirements

Following are the minimum system requirements for installing and running Scubase:

Hardware Requirements

Microsoft® Windows 7, Microsoft® Windows Vista, Microsoft® Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or later (all editions except Embedded).
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (any edition). A free Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition can be downloaded from Microsoft here: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition. The Advanced Services version is not necessary. Please review this important information: Configuring Microsoft SQL Server 2008 for use with Scubase.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later. Can be downloaded using Windows Update->Custom->Optional Software.
Spelling check of comments only: Microsoft® Word 2000 or later.

The number of dives, sites and organisms that can be entered into a registered copy of Scubase is only limited by the maximum database size and is unlikely to be reached through normal use. The only situation when size could be an issue is if you import a very large number of very high resolution pictures. The free Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition database engine has a maximum limit of 4 GB per database. If a larger database is required, then any other edition of Microsoft® SQL Server 2008 can be used with Scubase.
Scubase works only with data represented in the Western character set. Alternative character sets, such as Eastern European, Chinese or Japanese are not supported.
