Logging Dives in Scubase®
You decide how much and what type of information you log for your dives. Nearly all fields in the Dive window are user defined. Scubase will optionally remember your most recent entries and offer your past entries in the pull-down lists to make logging your dives a snap.
You don't have to log dives in Scubase in any particular order. Start with your current dives and work your way back at your convenience. Scubase will let you account for the missing dives and keep your bottom time to date accurate.
The Dive window presents the dive information on several tabs. The Summary tab presents the basic information about the dive, such as the dive date and time, dive site, and any additional fields and comment boxes you define. The picture shows the default design of the Summary tab:
The comment boxes support paragraph, bullet list, color and font formatting.
Additional user defined information about the dive is presented on the Details tab. The picture shows the default design of the Details tab:
Customizing Dive Log Contents and Layout
The Summary and Details tab contents and layout can be easily customized using the Scubase Form Designer. Track only the dive data you are interested in. Add new fields over time as your diving interests broaden.
You can modify the existing fields, add new text, time interval, integer, and decimal fields, check boxes, comment boxes, specify custom units of measurement, automatically populated pull-down selection lists, required and default entry fields, and extra wide fields for longer entries. You can move fields from the Summary to Details tab and vice versa, group related fields into frames and set the entry order.
Dive Parameters Calculations
You can configure Scubase to automatically calculate Total Bottom Time, Surface Interval, Dive of Day, Gas Used and Surface Air Consumption (SAC) from the entered or imported dive data. The dive calculations are configured using the Scubase Calculations Designer:
